We must prepare students with the fundamental computer science knowledge and skill needed for future success. If we want to prepare our children for the 21st century jobs, there is an absolute urgency for children to develop a deeper understanding of the fundamentals of computer science. Ideally, computer science education should be part of the core education in schools, and not simply a co-curricular activity.
